Aus-PNG Network stages ‘Emerging Leaders Dialogue’ in Cairns

December 8th, 2018

Last week Lowy Institute held its annual Aus-PNG Network’s ‘Emerging Leaders Dialogue’ for the first time in Cairns. The Dialogue brings together ten Papua New Guinean and ten Australian young people who are leaders in their fields, for two days of networking and discussion of priority issues for each country and the bilateral relationship. Congratulations to Rhiannon Simcocks, Kleinhardt Business Consultants and Matthew Tickner, Flannagan Consulting Group, Cairns who were chosen to participate in this high-profile event. Directly after PNG hosted APEC, the Emerging Leaders Dialogue builds on this significant event to focus discussions on the potential for tourism and travel to strengthen links between Australia and PNG. This is the sixth year of the Dialogue, and as in past years it included professional networking opportunities with high-profile corporate, government and civil society organisations, and a public reception. Tradelinked representatives Gary Aylward and Deb Maguire caught up with Rhiannon and Matthew at the Lowy Institute networking, together with Shane McLeod, Project Director, Aus-PNG Network.
