Hinterland Aviation

Hinterland Aviation is an air charter company operating out of General Aviation at Cairns Airport, and we are the largest Cessna Caravan operators in Far North Queensland. All of our aircraft are maintained to a Class A standard, the same maintenance level as major airlines. Hinterland Aviation currently provide contracted air services for Ergon Energy and previously provided FIFO charter services for Kagara Ltd and Mungana Pty Ltd. Our fleet of 16 aircraft are maintained by our own Aero Engineering division consisting of avionics, engine overhaul, and maintenance control. We currently employ seven (7) licensed engineers, of which five are PT6 approved. Our Air Worthiness department monitors the maintenance requirements of the entire fleet and our Stores department carry spare parts inventory in excess of $1,000.000 to support their requirements. Hinterland Aviation currently employ 17 fulltime pilots who are all endorsed to fly the Cessna Grand Caravan. Our dedicated Check and Training department ensure that all pilots complete three Base and Line checks per annum, four simulator sessions per annum with an external instructor, annual life raft and survival training, EFATO (Engine Failure After Takeoff) training and emergency glide training. Hinterland Aviation meets the Quality Assurance requirements of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and is AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 accredited. Holding a Class A maintenance certificate means that Hinterland Aviation are audited on a regular basis and are always looking to adopt industry advancements to build on the best practice and safety culture that exists at Hinterland Aviation.
