On 2 November a delegation of Cairns businesses travelled to Lae to begin our outbound visit to PNG.  The hospitality in Lae was fantastic and we were warmly greeted by Lae organisations and businesses.  Activities included a welcome function hosted by Mr Mark Foxe, Consul-General Lae; attendance at the Morobe Agricultural Show as part of the Australian Government Pavilion and a very well-attended Brains Trust meeting discussing business opportunities between Lae and Cairns.  The delegates were well looked after by the Lae Chamber of Commerce and enjoyed their time in Lae.   The delegation also visited Port Moresby, albeit a little later than expected due to flight re-scheduling.  Activities included a Tradelinked business networking event and meetings with Westpac; DFAT and the Australian High Commission.
